WEM JV took 2nd place at the Medford Tourney! In pool play WEM beat Winona 2-0 (25-16, 25-14), Albert Lea B 2-0 (25-11, 25-8), and Prior Lake 2-0 (25-16, 25-21). They then lost in a hard fought championship match versus Medford 1-2 (23-25, 33-31, 12-15).

The WEM varsity volleyball team placed 3rd at their home volleyball tourney. In pool play WEM beat Cleveland 2-1 (25-18, 16-25, 15-8) and beat Maple River 2-0 (25-11, 25-17). Heading into the final pool play match WEM and MVL both had 2 wins and 0 losses. WEM won game won 25-9, but fell in game two 19-25. Game 3 saw WEM leading most of the way, but MVL made a late charge and took game 3 12-15. WEM lost to MVL 1-2. WEM then matched up with Grand Meadow, the pool B 2nd place finisher, in the 3rd place match. WEM dominated the match winning 2-0 (25-17, 25-19).

The WEM volleyball team finished in 3rd place at the Kenyon-Wanamingo tournament. WEM finished in second place in pool B. Defeating Randolph 2-0 (25-12, 25-17)and Pine Island 2-0 (25-11, 25-9) before losing to Cannon Falls 1-1 (25-18, 15-25)due to a lesser point total. WEM then faced Dover-Eyota the second place team from pool A. WEM beat DE 2-0 (25-21, 25-21) to finish the day 3-1 and claim 3rd place.

There is a change to the 8th grade practice schedule next week. Lisa Androli will be coaching the team and will have school workshop until 3:30. Therefore, practice will be from 3:30-5 Monday-Thursday and no practice Friday. Sorry, for the inconvience this may have caused!
