The Buccaneers received the #1 seed in Sub-section 2A-South. Mayer Lutheran received the #1 seed in Sub-section 2A-North. In the quarterfinals, #1 WEM beat #8 Madelia 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-9) in their last home match of the season. In the semi-finals, #1 WEM beat #5 Mankato Loyola 3-1 (25-13, 25-11, 21-25, 25-12). WEM now moves on to the Sub-section 2A-south Championship. #1 WEM will face #3 Springfield at Mankato East High School. WEM will play 25 minutes following the Sub-section 2A-north championship match. The north championship match between #1 Mayer Lutheran and #2 Cedar Mountain Comfrey starts at 6pm . This is the 4th year in a row WEM has made the sub-section championship. 2015 was the first year the Buccaneers won a sub-section championship.
