The #3 seeded WEM Buccaneers knocked off the #2 seed St. Peter in Sub-Section 2AA-South playoffs. The win advances the Buccaneers to the Sub-Section Final for the third straight season. WEM will play #1 seeded Kenyon-Wanamingo. The game is a re-match of last year’s sub-section finals in which Kenyon-Wanamingo won 3-0. The match is Thursday, October 30th at Gustavus College in St. Peter. The match will follow the Sub-Section 2AA-North Final between Belle Plaine and Jordan who play at 6pm.

The WEM volleyball team received the #3 seed in Sub-Section 2AA South. Playoffs begin Thursday, October 23 with WEM hosting #6 seed Maple River at 7pm. The winner advances to the semi-final match against the winner of #2 St Peter vs. #7 Waseca. The semi-final match is Tuesday, October 28th, 7:45pm at Mankato East. A complete bracket is posted in our team documents.

During tonight’s match-up against Medford WEM volleyball is collecting pledges for every kill our team records during the match. Money raised will be given to the Buzz Kendall benefit on November 15th at the Morristown Legion.

WEM hosted a C-squad tourney this past Saturday. We entered two teams WEM 1 (8th & 9th grade JV players) and WEM 2 (c-squad).

WEM 1 won pool A
WEM 1 beat Medford, St. Peter 1, and Martin Luther/GHEC all 2-0

WEM 2 won pool B
WEM 2 beat St. Peter 2, Cleveland, and NRHEG all 2-0

In the semi-finals of the championship bracket
WEM 1 beat Cleveland 2-0
WEM 2 beat St. Peter 1 2-0

Championship match WEM 1 beat WEM 2 (2-0)
